My Artwork

My kindergarten picture!
And here are a couple 8th grade graduation cards made for me by my nieces. How sweet.

My Artwork

The top picture if of me and my son at Silver Dollar City.
Next is a picture drawn by a young man who lives in the Philippians. We were pen pals with his family as I grew up.
The picture with the funny man in the middle came from a dream I had. This dream was more like a movie! I was walking in the dark green area in Ireland and I was looking for a the boundary marker for my property. Along with me were girls dressed in such beautiful colors with full shirts and blew as they danced along. I soon spotted a beautiful cottage with fire coming from the chimney and the grass was long and swaying in the breeze. I looked down and saw the marker! It had a picture of a man's face stamped in it and everyone rejoiced with me!
My favorite time of the year is fall. I adore the colors and the change.
And lastly the picture of kittens, this is actually a huge card. It is as big as a sheet of paper. It came from the late 60's or early 70's. Did any of you ever receive on of these?

My Artwork

The flowers are from my yard and I laid them out on my scanner. Can you guess which ones are there?
I hope you can read the poem by my sister. She is so creative as well as all my family. God has blessed up that way.
The Blythe doll on the right is one from my childhood. I still have her though, she was well loved and it shows.

My Artwork

The top flowery picture as done in Branson as I sat on the balcony overlooking the lake. I love Branson.
The next picture with the lady on it I put in because I love my sister handwriting here. So cheerful. I also love my sister - and my whole BIG family. My parents had 12 children.
The next one down has a picture of my son Christian dressed in old time clothing. I love to get our picture taken at Silver Dollar City all dressed up in old time outfits. We have done this about 4 times!
The next picture with the two girls is a card sent to my by my sister and it makes me think of our close relationship.
The last page is of me and my husband and son.

My Artwork

A few years ago I decided to make an art journal with the theme "Things I Love". I hope you enjoy seeing some things I enjoy.
Victorian Children, Old shoes, purses....

My Artwork

My Native American Phase....
I was searching during this time for my genealogy. We were always told we were part Native American but had no proof. I found the one ancestor who may have been, but there is no way of knowing for sure.

My Artwork

I am so emotional about my art - do you get that way to? I drew this picture because I was angry and chose to "jump off" the hill of anger walk to the "Valley of forgiveness".

My Artwork

I started this covered bridge and did not finish it. I always draw or paint the bridge from this angle. I have never done one the opposite way. I wonder if it because I am right handed.

My Artwork

My artwork is immature, I know, but what it depicts means a lot to me. This picture is a representation of one of the most important days of my Christian experience.

Devotional on Beauty

Just a few of my thoughts on Beauty

Beauty the is spirit deep

Definition of Beauty from dictionary.com

the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).

from Strongs:
H3303 yâpheh (yaw-feh')
From H3302; beautiful (literally of figuratively): beautiful, beauty, comely, fair (-est, one), goodly, pleasant, well.

H8389 tô'ar (to'-ar)
From H8388; outline, that is, figure or appearance: beautiful, comely, countenance, fair, favored, form, goodly, resemble, visage.

H8597 tiph'ârâh (tiph'ereth)
From H6286; ornament (abstractly or concretely, literally or figuratively): beauty (-iful), bravery, comely, fair, glory (-ious), honor, majesty.

Where do we find this beauty?

I pray for Christ’s beauty to shine out from us women! I pray the Holy Spirit would do a work in our hearts that would show on our face. That is—our face would show Jesus living and working inside us. That those around us would be captured by “Jesus” showing on us and shining out.

The Lord has been showing me that true beauty is from Him. Not the outward beauty that does not last but the inner beauty.

Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

This verse tells us beauty is vain and that word vain means “transitory” . Facial beauty transitions in and transitions out. Outward beauty does not last! This verse goes on to say that this woman will be “praised” and this word means to shine forth. The woman who shines forth is the one who fears the Lord.

Song of Solomon
Chapter 1 King James Version

Son 1:1 The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Son 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Kissing someone on the mouth is a sign of intimacy. Intoxicating wine is not as good as the love of Jesus! God wants us to be intimate with him. How are we intimate with Jesus?

Son 1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
The savour is the smell. The word name means character. Your name is like scented oil being poured out. Jesus poured out himself, His character to mankind. The verse says because of this, you are loved by the women. We need this character of Jesus formed in us so our savour our scent or smell is like Jesus. This is a call to be like Jesus and have Godly character. What was Jesus like? What were some of His best character qualities that you think of?

Son 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
A drawing of the Lord. Have any of you ever experienced the drawing of the Lord? When you were saved you were drawn. It has to be the work of the Lord to do it. Remember this in our prayer for our loved ones for salvation. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict and draw them to Jesus. Again wine is mentioned here that Jesus love is so much better than any worldly pleasure. We don't want to commit
spiritual adultery with our Lord and make something an idol, alcohol for example.
The King draws us into His chambers, his presence, and we give ourselves over to Him gladly, with joy.

Son 1:5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
Here we see how we feel at times. I am ugly! I see wrinkles. I am fat, I am whatever. This woman was dirt covered, tanned. She worked hard.

Son 1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
So many of us take care of many other things and not ourselves. Do you find this is true for you?

Son 1:7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
We need the companionship of Jesus. No other completes us like Jesus. Even in our marriages or close friendships, we are alone. We are ourselves and stand with no one there—except Jesus who knows us better than we do our self. That is the only way we are whole and complete.

Son 1:8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
Her friend are cheering her on. You are fair, they say, go the shepherd! We need each other for encouragement. We need to encourage each other to seek the shepherds tent.

Son 1:9 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Strength, wealth, power of Jesus. We can depend on Him.

Son 1:10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
We see our Jesus as beautiful, valuable and He see us the same. God delights in us!

Son 1:11 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
Someday where we will be, gold will be the paving on the streets and we will be changed!

Son 1:12 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
Son 1:13 A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
Son 1:14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
Again, when we spend time at his table, we go away smelling like Him. We learn of His character and trust the Holy Spirit to work inside of us.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Who helps form the Character of Jesus in us? The Holy Spirit.

Son 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.
Where do our eyes look? In lust to the things of the world or to our lovely Dove. Who took on the form of a Dove? The dove was used as sin offering. The shedding of the blood of our great Dove, Jesus Christ cancels our sin. The ugly debt of sin we were born into. Sin was inherited but it is now replaced. Beauty for ashes!
Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Son 1:16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
Son 1:17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
Looking around the outdoors, we see creation call out to us to magnify the Lord. The green grass and flowers, trees. We have so much to be thankful for and praise God about.

1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

1Pe 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

“...you cannot come into joy and peace — indeed, you cannot know how to serve the Lord — until you see his delight in your deliverance…until you see the joy of his heart over his communion with you…until you see that every wall has been removed at the cross…until you know that everything of your past has been judged and wiped away. God says, “I want you to move on, into the fullness that awaits you in my presence!” - David Wilkerson

*Smell like Jesus—by spending time with him
*Let the Holy Spirit draw you into the Lord presence and you can pray for others to be saved by the Holy Spirit drawing them
*We may feel ugly at times but we must see the truth. Outward beauty does leave us but it is the inward beauty of the Character of Christ that is most important.
*Our friends need to be encouraged to the tent of the Shepherd. Decide to be an encourager.
“We want beauty that is Spirit Deep.
